The Process
Every AER piece moves through the same five steps — no shortcuts, no assembly lines. That's how we know it'll be in your hands for decades, not seasons.
Full-grain vegetable-tanned leather, sourced for density and grain character. Nothing corrected, nothing bonded.
Each pattern is traced and cut with a sharp knife, following the natural grain direction for strength and beauty.
Saddle-stitched with waxed linen thread — two needles, one continuous pass. Stronger than machine stitching by design.
Edges are beveled, sanded, and sealed with dye and burnisher until smooth as glass. Then a light conditioning coat.
Every piece is inspected, photographed, and packed in tissue before it leaves the shop. If it isn't perfect, it doesn't ship.
